Welcome to the Coffee Chat, our Wednesday book spotlight and interview with another author! This week's guest is romance writer, Chris Redding.

How do you take your coffee, Chris?

With almond milk and a teaspoon of honey. Been trying to cut down on artificial sweeteners.

Ally: That sounds pretty easy. My magic pot can do anything. :) Tells us something about yourself.

Chris Redding lives in New Jersey with her one husband, two kids, one dog, and three rabbits. When she isn't writing she's chauffering her two boys to activities and working per diem in her local hospital.

Find me at my author site, my blog, on Facebook, on Twitter, and on Amazon.

Ally:  Tell us what genre or genres you write, and how you chose them.

I write romantic suspense and romantic comedy. Romantic suspense chose me. I kept writing romance and finding dead bodies.

Ally:  What traits denote the perfect book boyfriend?

CHRIS:  He's the most considerate lover ever. He laughs at the heroine's jokes and he knows what she needs before she does.

Ally:  Describe your typical writing day: where, when, goals. Do you have a writers cave?

I don't have a cave because I have a laptop. What time of year denotes where I am writing, though lately it has been in my new kitchen.

Ally:  Who or what most influenced you to become a writer? Explain.

Not sure anyone did. I don't have any writers in my immediate family.

Ally: Let's try a few quick answer questions:

  • An item on your bucket list:   See all of the SR-71 Blackbird still in existence. There are 21. I've seen 3.
  • Your favorite TV show:   Big Bang Theory.
  • Do you sing in the shower?   No and anyone within ear shot is thankful for that.
  • What did you do for your last birthday?   Went to a gun range and a spa with my sister.
  • Writing attire:  Depends on if I've gone for a run. If I have, then it might be sweats. Otherwise whatever is handy. :)

Ally: I like your birthday activities! Thanks so much for sharing with us today. Before you go, let's take a look at your book.

Book Blurb:

Madison West appears on Peter Quincy’s doorstep as expected, when her husband, Charlie, disappears. Peter had been her husband’s best man and had promised to take care of Madison if something happened to him. Neither Madison nor Peter are what they seem, but will their lies to each other to save the world, instead fail to save them from each other?
